I know, I know. This is two weeks late.
But it’s not my fault. I never intended on creating a 2017 calendar.
Then people that got the 2016 calendar started asking for a 2017 calendar. I didn’t have one to give them.
And I felt kinda bad about it.
So just a few days ago (yes halfway through the first month of the year) I decided to make a monthly downloadable calendar. I did it for YOU, since some of you asked for it.
I figure it’s a win/win for both of us.
For you: You get a free calendar filled with my whacky art. All you have to do is download it monthly (I promise from here on out, the new month will be available for download by the last week of the month BEFORE…except for February…you can get that one NOW too, since February is almost here.)
For me: I get to produce a calendar without having to buy a bunch of them in advance, wait for them to be printed, wait for all of you to buy them from me and then (finally) ship them to you (where they’d be really, really late, not just two weeks late).
Plus, since I want to post them monthly instead of all at once, I figure it’s a good excuse to fill the 2017 calendar with ONLY new art (I just painted this chicken, Hilde, this week)….work nobody has seen before because it’s brand new. You’re the first to see it. (Do you feel special? I hope so because you are!)
This calendar prints out at 5.5 x 8.5. You can frame the current month, tack it on the wall with a thumb tack, or buy a 6 x 9 clipboard (affiliate link), or come up with some other great idea. Print out the current month and trim it (I’ve even included crop marks so you know where to cut). Pound a nail into the wall, hang the frame/clipboard/whatever you rounded up on it and WA Laaaa. You’ve got yourself a brand new calendar.
I will even send the calendar right to your inbox every month. You just need to tell me where to send it (don’t worry. I won’t sell your email (or even give it away) and I promise not to slam you with daily (or even weekly) emails. I’ll send your monthly calendar. Maybe a monthly-ish update or a rare special announcement and that’s pretty much it.
Ready? Sign up here.
Oh, one more thing. If you’re ever interested in buying the original art I’m creating for the calendar, you can check out my Etsy store to see if it’s still available. I’ll put them all in my shop over there.
For January’s calendar inspiration I used a couple photos I took of a friend’s hen, Hilde, a sweet, sweet girl. I painted it in watercolor (with acrylic ‘snow’) and it’s 6 x 9 inches. It’s called “Hilde Endured the Snow for the Sake of Style” (Oddly, the colors are pretty accurate on this image except the background–in real life it’s a light ‘dirty blue’ but insists on showing up gray in every photo. I can’t get a good copy of it…not sure why??)
Hilde in real life….
Please, PLEASE share this free calendar project with ANYONE you think might enjoy it. Free is the universal perfect price, and I’d love to have it enjoyed by many.
Happy 2017 everyone. Even two weeks late!
