It’s me, Kerrie. I’ve been MIA for awhile now. In part because my blog got hacked. It crashed and burned (and no, I didn’t have a copy of it–bad for me!) and files could be recovered. I was too busy going in a trillion different directions (as freelance artists are prone to do) so I just let the blog disappear and me along with it (well, I’ve been here, you just haven’t known it!)
So I’m starting off fresh and clean with a brand new blog. There are no archives to weed through, no commentaries to contemplate, no projects to look at (at the moment anyway). I’ve got a clean slate.
While I was at it, I gave my website a bit of a face lift. I mean, if I’m starting over, I might as well really start over, right?
In the last while that I’ve been MIA, I’ve been involved with a charming little gallery in Estacada, Oregon. While there I fell in love with the tiny town and it’s people. I also had a group show with two other friends. It was a great place to be and I learned much. I was there for nearly two years, but recently decided that part of the clean slate was closing that door on the gallery and focusing my creative energies in other directions.
I’ve worked on all sorts of projects in the last couple years. The most recent (and a kinda exciting one for me) was the release of my first ever adult coloring book. I created 20 original, whimsical illustrations all about chickens (of course). You can see all the illustrations here.
I took a class to create a coloring book in 30 days but it took me 30 days x 6 and a grand total of about 150 hours.
A. LOT. MORE. WORK. THAN. I. ANTICIPATED!
But I’m excited it’s done and up on Amazon (and selling).
So, where do we go from here? I’m going to be checking in regularly from now on. After a much too long absence, I’m ready to bring my art world a bit more public again. So expect to see more of me. Hopefully you’ll think that’s a good thing! (smile).
